 The New Local-Shoppers.com

Welcome to the new local-shoppers.com.  Just like everything else in life, the internet changes constantly, especially the way people use it.  In the past we focused on providing incredible deals for everyone who came to our site to use.  We thought this would be a great incentive for people to shop local.  Their were a few problems with this line of thinking though.

1. Not everyone has a printer to get these amazing offers

2. Not everyone wants to take the time to search for deals to save a few bucks.

3. Groupon and Living Social

The effects of Groupon and Living Social on the coupon industry

While Groupon and Living Social are very successful sites, there focus is strictly on the visitors to their sites and ultimately...making money.  The problem with these daily deal sites is that they are ultimately costing the businesses they represent.  In fact, almost half of businesses that advertised with Groupon in the past, say they would never run a daily deal with them again.  With most small businesses, every penny counts.  So when a daily deal site approaches a business and they sell a $75 service for $30, the daily deal site is getting between $5 and $15 of that.  So the business only gets $15 and $25 for a $75 product or service.

The other problem with these sites is that they attract bargain hunters.  In my opinion there is nothing wrong with this, however, most bargain hunters are just looking for a great deal and are not likely to become repeat customers.  That being said, business owners are becoming more and more hesitant about running coupons and specials that give an amazing discount.

The local-shoppers formula

We give businesses the platform to advertise their business they way they want.  Businesses can login, track stats, create deals on a daily basis, connect with facebook and tons more.  We also allow our advertisers to pick their own key words or tags so that they can be found not only on local-shoppers but also in the major search engines as well.  Every day more and more people are using the internet as their main source of finding information.  Our new search format enables are listings to get premium placement in Google as well as Yahoo and Bing.  So when you go to your cell phone or computer to find something, there is a very good chance you'll find it on local-shoppers.com

We will continue to grow and provide deals as businesses permit so long as you all continue to be local-shoppers.
